What you need to know about permitting in Plano:

• The City of Plano has a "Building Inspections" department that handles the majority of permit issuances; however, all matters of Fire Review/Fire Permits are reviewed/issued by the Fire Department. Additionally, Alarm Permits are reviewed and issued by the police department.
• The State of Texas has its own additional form of ADA law called the "Elimination of Architectural Barriers Act" (EAB Act). This act requires all projects with a construction value over $50,000 to register with the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation for a "EAB" review.
